Worship Style and Order
You will find a blend of contemporary and traditional, liturgical and free expression, participatory and passive styles of worship at FPC. Services sometimes include both the FPC Praise Band and the Chancel Choir accompanied by harp or the pipe organ. The worshiping community, in its integrity before the Word of God and its unity in prayer and Sacraments, is a sign of the presence of the reign of God.
Music is an important part of the life and work of First Presbyterian Church. Through music, we are able to glorify and serve God by giving our gifts back to Him. Church membership is not a requirement for choir participation and often regular attendees sing in our choirs before becoming members. Choir opportunities are available for all ages, from preschool & kindergarten children through adults and include handbells and the spoken word in addition to vocal performance.
The Purpose of the FPC Mission/Evangelism Team
To train and mobilize disciples of all ages to share the love of Jesus with the world through personal relationships, which will elicit a heartfelt response of joyful service to the needs of the least, the last and the lost, without compromising the forthright proclamation of the Word.
We actively support the Presbyterian Preschool, Little Ones Ministries International, Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch, Options Pregnancy Clinic, Torchbearers, Tentmakers Missions and The Caring People. In addition, we contribute to Christian Action Ministries, Clothe-a-Child, and Care for Kids.
