Music has always been a very important part of the life and work of First Presbyterian Church. Through music, we are able to glorify and serve God by giving our gifts back to Him. Our church’s mission statement is to be an inviting and inclusive community where needs are met and the faithful are empowered to use their gifts. Our music program hopes to empower the congregation to use their God-given gifts and talents to the glory of God. We hope that all involved will be moved to a deeper relationship with God through music, through service and through fellowship.
We consider our musical ensembles to be small core groups where we share life’s joys as well as difficulties, prayer requests and praise reports. Making music together helps us understand the need of others. A choir of one or two is not really a choir, each individual is equally important and necessary for the group to function. Our musical ensembles are a worship experience and can generate much of the spiritual energy for other elements of the congregation’s ministry. There are choir opportunities are available for all ages, from pre-school children through adults.
